Kartidaya believes that the nation of Indonesia can be changed when the Bible is heard and received. A national organisation serving language groups all over Indonesia through Bible translation, Kartidaya is helping local people like Rina* truly know God through the Bible.

Rina comes from a minority language group in Indonesia. She does not speak the national language well and cannot read or write in any language. Previously, she attended church but never really understood what it meant to be a Christian because the services were held in the national language. ‘Even though I attended church, I didn’t pray and I didn’t understand what was being said. I didn’t trust in Jesus or feel close to him.’

As a result of Kartidaya’s efforts to translate Bible stories into minority languages, Rina had the opportunity to attend a story fellowship group in her village. It was there that she heard a story that would change her life. As she listened to the story of how Jesus healed a man possessed by an evil spirit, Rina learned to believe in the healing power of Jesus. She now knows that God is close to her. Her husband and children also trust in Jesus. Today Rina continues to grow in her faith and now leads a small group to share stories, pray and worship.
